Why your excuses SUCK!
Running a business is hard - I don't need to tell you that. You have a million plates in the air at once and you are ultimately responsible for everything. You are responsible for doing the work, doing the administrative part, and for finding the customers! And finding the right balance between all of these is a tricky job. There isn’t really anything in life that prepares you to be a business owner.
However, we are not at the complete mercy of the business gods. There are many parts of business that we can control, plan for and improve upon.
But, I’ve met many business owners who make excuses for why they can’t do things and essentially create their own blocks and barriers that aren’t even there. And it goes something like this:
I can’t do that because: I’m shy, I don’t know how, I don’t understand the technology, it takes too long, I don’t like my voice, I don’t like speaking in front of people etc.
And then its often wrapped with a statement along the lines of – “Oh, I’m not like you, I can’t”. So let’s talk about that today and why your excuses suck.
There are a handful of things that if I didn’t get over, I would never be where I am now. We all have strengths and weaknesses and those can propel our businesses forward, and they can also hold us back.
